Salicylates can actually also cause effects on other people. When pregnant, a large dose of salicylates can give them a higher chance of anaemia and indigestion.
Also, if salicylitic acid stays in the Gastrointestinal tract (the tube that runs from your mouth to your anus) for too long, it can cause nausea and Epigastric Distress.
Why do salicylates cause anaemia? Because don't people with arthritis get anaemia, and are they going to just get more anaemia than they already have?
